• Chloé Zhao is a filmmaker in search of understanding. Her three films to date, Songs My Brothers Taught Me, The Rider and Nomadland, share an emotional resonance born from the naturalism of the characters and their pursuit of empathy. In each film, just as strong as the bonds of family or between a man and his horse, is the bond of nature - not just between the characters, but between Zhao and her storytelling.
